→ Eden Minima

Eden, the place of delights, and Minima for minimal, summarizes my concept very simply, an idyllic space within the necessity of the minimum. This project is a reinterpretation of Le Corbusier's project in response to the climate emergency. I take a radical stance that would see the radiant city strive for sustainable food autonomy. To act and prevent, the project aims to assist future generations. I advocate for raising awareness of the climate emergency and our exacerbated consumption in France. This project is a manifesto, conceived as a garden of knowledge and sharing at the heart of Marseille.

La sobriété est facteur de bonheur parce qu’elle est libératrice.
Si j’en veux toujours plus, quand suis-je satisfait ?

Eden Minima is a manifesto. A reinterpretation of Le Corbusier's project in response to the climate emergency. I take a radical stance that would see the radiant city strive for food autonomy. It is estimated that 1000 m² is sufficient for one person's food needs in France for one year. To meet the needs of a city of 900 inhabitants, I have decided to create a vertical garden, a vegetal wall that would envelop the main volume of the city, with a cultivation area extending over 90 hectares.

The radiant city becomes a storehouse of abundance of resources and awareness, through food and biodiversity via myciculture, entomoculture, aquaponics, poultry farming, beekeeping, and agricultural techniques inspired by permaculture.

Agriculture would enable residents and the people of Marseille to mobilize around a project, to find a new rhythm of daily and longer-term life, aligning with the seasons and eating locally while achieving a form of happy sobriety.

One of the imposed systems for the smooth functioning of the dynamics of spaces is a logistical hub that is the heart of the project. This space serves as a transition between the radiant city and the vegetal city, allowing people to meet, eat, stroll on the vegetal wall, and recharge.

The hub comprises 4 corridors on two floors bordered on either side by different spaces, all dedicated to food, including a market for fresh and processed products from the vegetal city, communal kitchens, spaces for receiving deliveries, and an associative canteen.

This hub is the nerve center of Eden Minima. It is the central place of the city where residents would come to source food from the crops.
